NYFW Spring 2011: Oscar de la Renta
There is a reason why Sarah Jessica Parker and the red carpet regulars turn to Oscar over and over: he knows how to make clothes that transform. This collection could be interpreted as not very youthful, but I disagree. There is nothing sexier than a dress who's proportions are so correct that it can have you channeling Sofia Loren within minutes! These dresses have pop, amazing detailing, and a standard of perfect construction that should not be taken lightly.
It's a fairy tale refined.

NYFW Spring 2011: L.A.M.B.
This was a refreshing collection from L.A.M.B. The color scheme was fresh, the theme was light- hearted but with just the right amount of rock n' roll street chic. I loved the presentation aspect of this runway show...blue sky to sunset. Clever and beautiful. I think more designers should think as much about the look of the show as they do the look of the clothes. Tell a story already!
What can I say, I 'm a sucker for Gwen.

NYFW Spring 2011: Proenza Schouler
Proenza Schouler, the darlings of the New York fashion world, never disappoint! Their collections are always young, colorful, and full of detailing. These are my favorites.

NYFW Spring 2011: Hervé Léger by Max Azria
This collection kinda blew my mind. The construction of these garments is amazing to say the least. I love the contrast between the corseted tops and the stiff ruffles and layers at the bottom. I like the way the bandage dress was taken to the next level. An elegant meeting of modern armor and lingerie.

NYFW Spring 2011: DKNY
Surprise! I really loved these flirty little ruffled dresses by DKNY (Donna Karan's lower priced line). The black bow with those sexy red pumps, mmm hmmm....

NYFW Spring 2011: Marc Jacobs
This collection is like something that Bernadette Peters from "The Jerk" would wear! Since she is one of my all time favorite characters, this luxurious look back at 70's glamour is so delightful. Marc Jacobs just knows how to do it and do it right. That chocolatey brown satin number is my favorite and the heels are SO disco fabulous. Sensual, feminine, with just the right amount of edge.

NYFW Spring 2011: Jason Wu
Loving the librarian chic from Jason Wu. The big bows at the neck are irresistible and the shorts suit is very now. My favorite of course is the 80's-ish purple number, what a shock, right?
XOXO

NYFW Spring 2011: Z Spoke by Zac Posen
Even thought this is Zac Posen's lower priced line, it doesn't look cheap. I love all the looks this collection has to offer. They are fun and flirty but grown up enough to be taken seriously. My pick is the pant suit with the apple t-shirt... so New York!

NY Fashion Week: The Blondes 2010
Well, I have saved the best for last: The Blondes. They like to mix things up and keep the crazy level on high, but hey, that's why I love them! The over the top sparkle, layers of embellishment, eye popping corsets, well, you get the idea. I love the mix of hard core hardware with feminine shapes. If Lady Gaga had any sense she would hire The Blondes as here lifetime atelier!
