Eyes and Legs

This pumped up bombshell look is working for Ms. Moss!
The dark teased hair and extreme cat eyes are doing me in.

She Kills Me

Oh Dita, you never cease to amaze me with your vintage bombshell perfection!
These pictures are solidifying my love affair with all things burlesque.
PS I need to make some underpants like that stat!

I Heart LANVIN!

For my credit card's sake it's probably good that we don't have an H&M store in town.
I love this ad campaign, including the super fun video, it's like something I would want done for my own collection.
The accessories are right on, the dresses are a cocktail party dream and the shoes are calling to me.
So French, so avant garde, so overwhelmingly delicious!

Local Talent

Break Dancing!

Genevieve is rockin' the mic and the Dark Pony Pinky Ghost Hat!

After six long weeks, me and my main man finally got to get out of the house (and out of town) for a date night! Destination: Chico, Ca. One of our best friends Genevieve was performing Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto whilst six months pregnant, and we sure as hell weren't gonna miss that! What was the occasion? Chikoko's Tronic Fashion Show. Chikoko is a local Chico collective of five women who make all the clothes, perform, organize the event, and cast the models. Bottom line: they are a hard working bunch and the show was super fun.  Of course Genevieve was amazing (see video) and I can't wait for the next night on the town.

INSPIRATION: Vogue Paris Masquerade

I love all the amazing masks and hats that paraded the Vogue Paris celebration.
So much over the top drama.
Feathers and leather and lace...
I do love a good masquerade.

Gasp! in the Garden...

Ahhh couture season...the fantasy and the fluff. This collection from Christian Dior as designed by one of my favorites, John Galliano, is in no way an abstract story. In fact it is a straight forward statement: beauty. Woman as a flower.  A classic theme with a modern twist. The colors are mind blowing...here are my favorites:

RESORT 2010: DVF

Diane Von Furstenberg is counting on some fun in the sun! Let's face it, sometimes it's nice to take a break from all the world's bad news. The oversized bow hats are silly and girly, but I like the relaxed flirtatious vibe. Super fun brights, vintage inspired swimwear, and gorgeous cocktail dresses feel right for this cruel summer...

CFDA 2010 Red Carpet

The Council of Fashion Designers of America had it's annual award show the other night and it turned out the expected assortment of eye candy.  Here are my favorites:
A tribute to the late Alexander McQueen

Lara Stone in Calvin Klein

Zac Posen with Devon Aoki, in a dress by the designer

Sarah Jessica Parker in Alexander McQueen

My favorite was this amazing Marchesa dress worn by Hana Soukupova...those circus horses are melting me!

Beauty on the Edge

By now you all know: I am Madonna obsessed. These images from Interview Magazine shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott are gorgeous! Just can't get enough of the glittery hardware, black lace lingerie, heavy eyeliner, and blonde curls. This is classic Madonna imagery. A combination that always inspires me.
Powerful. Sexual. Beautiful.

Glamour! Met Ball 2010

This year's Costume Institute Gala was full of surprises. Not all of them were good, but I'm going to focus on my favorites. I loved the diversity and the risk taking...the high/low contrasts and the chance to see designer looks off the runway.
Gwen Stefani in L.A.M.B.
Blake Lively in Marchessa (didn't love the shoe choice)
Iman in Prada looking amazing!
Naomi Watts in Stella McCartney (love the one shoulder)
Janet Jackson in Lanvin (very avant garde)
Chloe Sevigny in Proenza Schuler
(I LOVE the colored lace-would have paired it with different shoes though)
Chanel Iman in Michael Kors
(What can I say, I'm a sucker for gold jumpsuits)
Rachel Weisz in Oscar de la Renta
(Classically elegant)
