A Bride After My Own Heart!

I came across these vivid images on Rock n Roll Bride's Blog and was totally floored!
This bride encapsulates the image and attitude of Dark Pony Designs. Even though she is not wearing one single stitch of Dark Pony, I wanted to share this because I love her bold choices. The head piece is fabulous, the gloves, the hot pink underskirt, the bright blue shoes.... I could go on and on.

Gloves Galore

I had a collection of vintage gloves that were just asking to be brightened up for spring. I hand dyed each pair and embellished them with bows and vintage buttons. This time of the year just aches for dainty whimsy.

New Gloves!

I have had a lot of requests for custom gloves lately and I'm loving the variety it is giving my shop. I am thinking about hand dying some white lace gloves in pastel colors for spring. The color combinations are endless and I can't wait to add long opera length gloves in darks for fall.

Button-Button

About three years ago my Great Aunt Audrey died at the grand old age of 97. She was a sweet old lady, but we were never very close, I was only able to visit her twice in my life. She lived in Little Rock Arkansas, and amassed quite the collection of junk. My Mom, Grandma and extended family traveled from California to handle her estate and go through 97 years worth of stuff. It was a giant undertaking to say the least. If it hadn't been for my Mom's patience and pack rat affliction, every item in that house would have ended up in a dumpster. Turns out my aunt had some real gems among the garbage. I was lucky enough to "inherit" her life long button collection!  I had no idea what I was going to do with all those beautiful vintage buttons. And then a brain storm...

Can't stop....these are from my current collection:

Whew!

Assuming the Throne

Oh the irony. I never went to my prom, in fact I never even finished high school. Now, I find myself in the running to become prom queen! Etsy.com is running a voter to find out which prom item will take the crown. My "Smokey Noir" gloves are up for your consideration. In hind sight: I totally should have gone to prom. Now a days, I don't usually pass up any excuse to get extremely dressed up and party all night long...

Old Money-High Style: DIOR Couture 2010

I am such a sucker for anything John Galliano. In my opinion he is a genius and he knows how to pile on the glam sky high. In this collection he featured so many of my favorite elements: equestrian, veiling, top hats, spats, lace, tear drop crystals, volume, and of course color! Here are my favorites:

Oh to have that hat!

The craftsmanship of this dress is amazing

LOVE these boots

Fushia opera gloves in leather- oh yeah!

Amazing hat- beautiful earrings

This was my favorite makeup look of the show...perfection!

Pony Up: 2 Bitchez Deep

When I first saw these amazing gloves on the Patricia Field store I was in love. It's tough girl, street smart, punk, glam, and so over the top! Apparently I'm not the only one- it looks like they are sold out of almost everything... It's not everyday that I find something new that I love. Thanks 2BD for being so clever and inspiring!

Blue Christmas

"I'll have a blue Christmas..." Elvis Presley
Even though my Christmas won't be sad and blue, I would love to be wearing some of these fabulous items! Blue works so well for winter, especially if it's bright, bold, or dark. Paired with pink, yellow, or orange it's a sure winner. Here are some of my favorite etsy goodies that won't leave you with the Christmas blues...
