Time After Time...

I heard this song on the radio today and it instantly transported me directly to 1988. Back then, my world was all about watermelon bubblicious, roller skating, crimping irons, Thriller, trapper keepers, jean jackets and fantasizing about getting my ears pierced. I was in third grade and I can honestly say that's the last year that I still really felt like a kid.

I remember reading this book that same year, and I hadn't thought about it since until today. I have no idea what the story line was, but the cover image has stuck with me. It's always amazing how a certain song or even the sound of a song can bring up random memories.

Nude Nostalgia

My childhood heroines were all the baddest bitches of day and nighttime television. Alexis Colby, Erica Cane, Maddie Hayes, and Blanche Devereaux come to mind. These ladies were smart, sophisticated, snappy dressers and they all wore nude heels! I completely forgot about this trend until it recently started showing up on the red carpets and runways this season. Nude pumps complement brights, blacks and whites nicely. I sadly do not own one pair, but my birthday is coming up and I am definitely gonna fix that little problem!

When all you see is the fame and fortune of what's on the outside, it's easy to forget how people get started and what is necessary to see your dreams through.
