Rodarte: Don Giovanni

Rodarte designed these amazing costumes for the Don Giovanni Opera. On top of the mind blowing detailing of the clothing, the sets were out of this world. So simple, but powerful and inspiring.

Tickeled Pink: Halloween Vixen

"I know it's kind of a classic cliché to vamp up the sexiness on Halloween with kitty costumes and French maid outfits that have your fellow partygoers shouting things like, "Oh no she didn't!" But before you judge, you might want to take a second to browse through the skimpy, revealing, skin tight costumes that surprisingly take the risqué to a whole other level. Even my shy modest self can see the potential possibilities of squeezing into a Ziggy Stardust jumpsuit, dancing all night in a fringed flapper dress or strutting my stuff in a beautifully adorned showgirl costume. The following getups are guaranteed to earn you a few extra tricks and treats this Halloween."

This Etsy finds email was waiting for me in my inbox this morning. That was a fabulous start to my Saturday! I am so excited to be featured, to have my hard work recognized, and inspired by all of the other amazing items included in the collection.
Here's to Circus Queens and Pinup Dolls!

Show Stopper

Step right up and feast your eyes on the circus queen! I love the spectacle and glamor that surrounds a show girl. There is something magical that inspires awe and transports the audience into a world of cotton candy clouds and twinkling diamonds. A high that's hard to come down from.

I had so much fun creating this costume!

The images below represent a life time of visual inspiration for this project. I hope my version lives up to the fantasy!

Marilyn Monroe- I love the strangeness of this glamor shot.

Oh the Choices for All Hallows Eve...

I love dress up! Who doesn't? Create a fantasy and live it for one night...yeah, I like that idea. When thinking about my favorite movie characters who have the best outfits Cher, Glinda, Frankenstein's Bride, and the Wicked Witch all came to mind. Iconic costumes that are instantly recognizable are always a party favorite. What will I be doing this Halloween? Trick or Treating with the family dressed as the Ice Queen of Narnia!

Masquerading as a Fairy Tale

The day has come! I have finally finished my latest project...I rescued an old bridesmaid's dress and made it into a ball gown. I have been working on this off and on for the last 2 months. It feels so good to put the completed stamp on this one. I made the underskirt from scratch and added the velvet bow, waistband, and floral corsage. Now, on to the next idea....
